　日本を代表する正統派ヘヴィ・メタル・バンドANTHEMが『Nuclear Blast』と正式契約、遂に世界進出する。リリース第1弾となるのは、全曲英語による歌詞で新たにレコーディングしたベスト・アルバム。ミックスとマスタリングはイェンス・ボグレンが担当している。イェンス・ボグレンと言えば数多くの有名バンドを手掛けてきたことで知られる、現代メタル・シーンきっての名プロデューサー/エンジニア。緻密な理論と豊富な知識に基づく見事な仕事ぶりでそれぞれのバンドのキャリアに大きく貢献してきたことで知られるイェンスだが、今回のANTHEMとの仕事においても、彼ならではのファットな重低音を効かせたサウンド作りで、ワールドワイドで通用する見事な作品に仕上げている。
　注目すべきは、選曲された13曲のうち“VENOM STRIKE”を除く12曲が、2001年に再結成して以降の楽曲であることだ。これまでの活動の中で常に、過去の代表曲に頼る必要がない“最強の現役”であることを証明し続けてきた彼らだからこそ、今回の新録ベストでも当然の如く“現在進行形であるANTHEM”を主張できるのである。

 Japan's leading traditional heavy metal band, ANTHEM, signed to Nuclear Blast Records to break into the worldwide market. The first release will be the entirely re-recorded greatest hits album with English lyrics. Mixing and mastering were done by Jens Bogren, who is an established producer / engineer known for having been working with a number of big bands. Jens' works based on the elaborate theories and a great store of knowledge have been helping many bands' careers, and ANTHEM's case is no exception. This album with Jens' fat sound with rich low-end is easily up par with the worldwide heavy metal standard.
 The remarkable point about this release is that all the songs except "Venom Strike" were written after their reunion in 2001. This proves that Anthem always has been a "today's band" that does not have to rely on their past.
 This re-recorded greatest hits, "NUCLEUS", including the variety of their classics is a monumental work, which perfectly shows the musical quality of ANTHEM and proves that they can be ranked as a top-notch band even in the international market. 2019年3月29日 全曲英語詞のベストアルバム『NUCLEUS』が世界に向けてリリースとなります。
「これこそがANTHEMの根幹なのだ。」という想いを込めて、中核、中枢、という意味を持つ“NUCLEUS”という言葉をアルバムタイトルとしました。

デビュー35周年目前のこのタイミングでこの作品を世界に向けて送り出せること、そして、この作品を作り上げた現ラインナップをとても誇りに思うと同時に、この作品をこれまでサポートしてくだった皆さんにお届けできることを心から光栄に感じています。

ANTHEMはここからも変わらず、ベストを尽くして未来を目指し、前進して行きます。
どうぞ『NUCLEUS』を存分にお楽しみください。

Our re-recorded greatest hits album with English lyrics, "NUCLEUS" will be internationally released on March 29th 2019. The title represents that this is ANTHEM's nucleus.

I am proud that we can internationally release this album right before our 35th anniversary with this current great line-up, and I am also honored from the bottom of my heart that we can present this to our fans.

ANTHEM will keep doing our best to move forward heading for the future as always.

自分がANTHEMに復帰してから、早4年。2枚のフルアルバムや映像作品を数作、様々なライヴ活動を含め、それぞれの1年を通しての活動は非常に密度が濃く、まさに充実という言葉が当てはまる、そんな音楽活動を送ってくることができました。
そして2019年、ANTHEMとして初めての海外に向けてのベスト盤をリリースすることとなり、バンドが更なる高みを目指している現実に、体の内から溢れてくる興奮を感じざるを得ません。
ANTHEM初となる全曲英詞、英語による歌のレコーディングは中々タフな時間がありましたが、世界のメタルファンにとってこのアルバムが日本という国にもメタルを愛してやまないバンドがいるんだという位置づけとなる作品になってくれれば本望です。

4 years have already passed since I re-joined Anthem. I can say my musical activities have been very dense and fulfilling with 2 full-length albums, some video works and a lot of live concerts.
And I must say I am so much excited that in 2019 at last Anthem will internationally release an album, the re-recorded greatest hits.
Singing all the songs in English was not easy at all for me, but I hope this album will show the world that Japan has a band like us who loves metal this much.

今回のレコーディングには、セルフカバーということで、いつも以上に現在進行形のバンドとしてのプライドを刻み込むつもりで挑みました。かなりの強敵、難敵な13曲ではありましたが、オリジナルに忠実ながら、今だからこそできるバンドの音と表現力を存分に収められたのではないかと思います。そして、ANTHEMの音楽が新たなる可能性を持って広く世界へと羽ばたいていくことを心から幸せに思っています。是非、イェンス・ボグレンの新鮮なミックスと共に隅々まで聴き込んでください。

まだまだ終わることのないANTHEMの挑戦に、これからも是非期待していて下さい！！

Finally our re-recorded greatest hits album with English lyrics, "NUCLEUS" is set to be internationally released!

I tackled with this self-cover recording putting my pride into it more than usual as a running band. Those 13 songs were not easy at all, however I believe they fully got the sound and the expression of today's ANTHEM while being true to the originals at the same time. I am really happy that our music is now flying into the international market hoping for a new possibility. Please give it to a listen and feel the details of the album with the fresh mixing by Jens Bogren.
